(Business) – Ericsson reported quarterly core earnings beyond market estimates, with 5G network equipment demand staying strong despite the coronavirus outbreak wreaking havoc in its main markets, China and the U.S.
Ericsson’s first-quarter adjusted quarterly operating earnings went up to 4.6 billion Swedish crowns (370.59 million pounds) from last year beating the mean forecast of 4.13 billion crowns.
Total Ericsson revenue, a rival of China’s Huawei Technologies and Finland’s Nokia, rose 2% to 49.8 billion crowns.
