BUXTON, England (UK) – A British police force in rural England bemused the public with unusual coronavirus crisis responses.
These responses included dyeing a lagoon black to stop people from going there and flying drones over a remote beauty spot to shame walkers.
Officers from Buxton received reports of people coming together by the lagoon created by water filled in a disused quarry’s deep hole on Facebook.
“Blue Lagoon”, named due to its Caribbean-like shade of the water, is a dangerous location and people congregating here poses a risk.
The police force used water dye to make the lagoon seem unappealing which haad worked before to keep people away from the lagoon.
In the post, there were a series of striking images of the blue water with black patches as though ink had been poured in.
This approach drew a mixed response. People claimed that the pictures might draw more ‘idiots’ to the lagoon.
People who did visit the area reported that the water was completely black and the cold and greying skies with no one around.
The Derbyshire Police sparked an online debate with a video filmed using flying drones over the Peak District National Park shaming people walking in the remote area.
