SHANGHAI (CHINA) – A fire broke out on Friday at the facility of Huawei technologies in the city of Dongguan in south China, said local authorities, adding that it has been doused and there are no casualties.
The incident took place in a steel structure under construction close to a research lab, said the management committee of Dongguan’s Songshan Lake area.
The committee said the flames were doused by fire fighters in the afternoon. According to Dongguan city fire rescue department, sound-absorbing cotton was the cause of the blaze.
The lab conducts research into various materials as well as 4G and 5G antennas.
