SHANGHAI (CHINA) – Rotating chairman of Huawei Technologies Guo Ping said that its supply chain has been “attacked” and the firm will do everything to fortify it.
He was speaking at the annual Huawei Connect event in Shanghai, which puts the spotlight on information and communications technology.
The telecoms manufacturing giant has been facing increasing pressure from the US. Last month, Washington tightened curbs to choke its access to commercially available chips.
Last month, CEO of Huawei’s consumer business unit Richard Yu said that from September 15, the firm would stop manufacturing its most advanced chips under its Kirin line.
