MOSCOW (RUSSIA) – The Belarus army will look at protecting national memorials from protesters as its responsibility, the defence ministry said on Sunday. As unrest continued for the third week in the country, people began to gather in Minsk for an opposition rally.
The statement said that any conflict near such monuments and statues would no longer be dealt with by the police forces but by the army.
