LONDON (UK) – A week or two more would be needed before Britain’s social distancing measures begin to translate as lower hospitalisation rates.
However, there has been some extent of plateauing in London in the past few days, according to NHS England Medical Director Stephen Powis.
“There is reason to be hopeful that some of the changes we are observing in infections and perhaps in hospitalisations is now reflecting the benefit of the social distancing. It will be a week or two before the measures that are put in place translate into lower hospitalisation rates. But … in London in the last few days there has been a bit of a plateauing in terms of numbers.”
