Health Minister Hancock warns of ‘tough’ few weeks ahead
LONDON – On Thursday, British Health Minister Matt Hancock warned of a “tough” couple of weeks ahead as the country prepares to combat the coronavirus spread.
Hancock also added that the government is not considering shutting down schools and universities at the moment.
“In the coming weeks, it will be tough, but with calm heads and clear determination, together we can see it through.”

Hancock reported that according to scientific advice, cancelling large public gatherings bring no benefit as long as people followed basic rules of hygiene.
The British government is looking at adding support before next week’s budget for those not eligible for statutory sick pay.
