MOSCOW – Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that after his meeting last week with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on matters of U.S. – Russia strategic dialogue, he believed a more constructive approach from Washington.
The meeting happened on Friday at the Munich Security Conference.

Both of them has brought up issues regarding strategic dialogue between Russia and the U.S. along with discussions on arms control.
The New START accord which is the last major arms control treaty between Russia and the U.S. expires next year. Russia seems ready to extend it but U.S. officials believe it is flawed and outdated.
The last treaty between the world’s two largest nuclear powers and this limits the volumes of strategic nuclear warheads which can be deployed.
