BUENOS AIRES – Evo Morales, the ousted Bolivian leader, has left for Cuba from Argentina for a medical procedure. He fled Argentina as a political exile in November.
The South American socialist icon left Bolivia as officials in the country annulled the October victory in the elections following vote-rigging accusations.
The ex-president took an unscheduled flight to Cuba to attend to health reasons and Morales is expected to be back on the weekend to continue with his scheduled agenda.
Since Morales’ arrival in Argentina, he has been a fervent campaigner for the Movement for Socialism (MAS) party before the May 3rd Bolivian election.
