Sunday 3rd July 2022 saw the inaugural Asia Cup Polo Finals Day hosted at the private Winkfield Park Polo Club. Guests arrived at a cocktail reception sponsored by Jason Hoffman of www.miamicocktail.com as guests were entertained by our Gyspsy Kings style duo whilst relaxing in our chill-out lounge kindly provided by Gindy Singh and RWS London.
Our long-standing MC for the day, Roger Dakin then got things underway with a great game of Heads & Tails where the prize of a bottle of Champagne was again kindly donated by our weekend champagne partners Jacquart. Our hospitality partners Chakra again provided a delicious three-course meal – over the 3 days they served almost 900 people so many thanks to Arjun and his team!
Kym Mazelle got guests up dancing on the stage once everyone heard her great vocals. Again many
thanks to Kym who was a star performer over the weekend. Monies were raised through the auction for the Red Ribbon Foundation who are supporting orphans in India. Some wonderful prizes were donated including a champagne and caviar tasting by OENO Group, whiskey tasting by Tomaka Fine and Rare Investments – thank you to Adam Rosenfeld for the introductions he made. Many thanks to all those who were successful bidders
Once lunch has finished, guests came out to watch two great games of polo. In between it was great
to see everyone trading the divots in as is the custom. In the first ever Asia Cup Finals we had an enthralling match between hosts Hanel-Sen Foundation team and the Red Ribbon Foundation team – though they were both competing for a good cause!
The Hanel-Sen Foundation team ran out worthy winners in the end with especially Robert Wilson
turning in a Most Valuable Player performance. Once the prize ceremony had taken place, the Gypsy Kings-style band then got the after-party started before resident DJ Ivan really got people dancing. Tea Green then showed everyone what an amazing voice he has with his live performance.
Many thanks again to Arjun and the team for providing amazing food over the weekend. To Gindy
Singh and the team at RWS, Jason and OENO for their generous drinks sponsorship. Also we would like to thank Damian from Red Fox who provided prizes for the teams as well as bringing a number of influencers to help spread the word about the Asia Cup!
Asia Cup veteran and long time friend Abby Pathak was ever present throughout the weekend and
many thanks to him and Winkfield Park’s own Josh Clover who had brought all the teams together for
such exciting matches over the 3 days.
So the Asia Cup Charity and Finals Day is now a permanent fixture in the weekend and we look
forward to seeing you all in 2023 !!
