Sadhguru’s 100-day motorcycle journey to Save Soil: Taking Europe by Storm

The aim: Bring together people worldwide to stand up for soil health and support leaders to institute national policies to Save Soil. Here are a few of the highlights from the journey so far.

  • A concert in Rome with Italian artists including Elisa, Malika Ayane, Giovanni Caccamo, Noemi, and Carlo Pastore – hosted by Billboard.
  • 6 Caribbean nations signed the Save Soil Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) – a commitment to creating policies to raise the organic content of agricultural soils to healthy levels. 
  • 54 Commonwealth Nations support the Save Soil Movement. The Rt Honorable Patricia Scotland QC, the Commonwealth Secretary-General, has expressed alignment of the Commonwealth Call to Action on Living Lands (CALL) with the objectives of Save Soil and seeks to involve all 54 Commonwealth countries.
  • Government Ministers and representatives in multiple countries have expressed support and have received the MoU, including Italy, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Slovakia, Romania and Georgia. 
  • World Food Programme (WFP) and the 4 per 1000 Initiative (launched by France at COP21, a coalition of 699 partners across 104 countries that aims to boost carbon storage in agricultural soils by 0.4% each year) sign Save Soil MoUs.
  • Children across the world have been writing to their governments about Save Soil. 100k+ letters have been sent in India. The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research invited all students in Germany to support Save Soil by submitting their artwork on soil for a global exhibition of art, poetry and more.
  • Local projects across Europe and beyond include:
    • Murals in Germany, UK, Mauritius and India
    • Light shows in Geneva and Bucharest
    • Supporters from Italy walked hundreds of kilometres to meet each other in Rome, spreading awareness along the way.
