Delta Food Industries FZC (DFI) has been around for less than a decade, too young to be considered a rock in a highly competitive food processing industry. Yet, time and again DFI defies all odds. Every year, Delta Food shows considerable growth.
In 2018, Delta Food focused more on private label production catering the export market. Eighty-five private brands were produced going to fourteen countries in Africa and Middle East. The new names brought about 30% growth in DFI’s revenues when the books closed.
In order to address the need for a specific variant that will appeal to the class C & D consumers with the same high quality that Delta Royale is known for, another label is added to complement DFI’s existing brands. Tum Tum brand was developed in November for the tomato paste requirement in West Africa. It is warmly accepted by the market. This is considered an important milestone as in this market there is no other company that has ever made this other than the Chinese.
With the rising order quantity, DFI increased its production capacity by adding another retort machine to beef up the dairy facility. The orders for sterilized cream and evaporated milk soared with the demand for the military and the United Nations tenders.
Towards the end of the last quarter, DFI was loading an average of 20 containers per day and is expected to increase before the first quarter of 2019 is over. More importers have come to acquire distributorship in the vast African market and the GCC. DFI sees this development as a positive factor that will foster healthy competition amongst the retailers. Representatives from the government of Kenya, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Ghana have come to visit DFI’s facilities, forging an understanding for future collaboration.
The coming Gulfood exhibition will play a pivotal role in Delta Food’s heightened presence in the food processing industry. Veering slightly away from the usual display, DFI’s thematic booth will stand out amidst all the other booths with its unique theme and is expected to draw more visitors than the previous years.
DFI’s products will also be on display in the permanent exhibition center at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Delta Food will be in close coordination with the Chamber on trade missions and international food trade exhibits as part of SCCI’s drive to help investors achieve maximum exposure.
With all the positive projections that DFI achieved in 2018, the company is strengthening its position in the food processing industry. Everything that Delta Food has achieved over the years were made possible through the concerted efforts of Delta team, like Messi or Ronaldo alone cannot score or triumph without the rest of the team playing for the win. From its humble beginnings, Delta is destined for greatness.
