LONDON (UK) – According to official data of the UK on Wednesday, inflation in the country dipped by more than expected in November and it reflects Black Friday discounts as clothing and footwear prices dropped abruptly.
In annual terms, consumer prices climbed 0.3%, after a 0.7% rise in October. A poll of economists had pointed to a reading of 0.6%.
Clothing and footwear prices dropped 2.6% in November, which is in contrast with a 1.0% spike last year.
“The price fall in November this year reflects increased discounting and there have been media reports that some Black Friday sales may have spread further across the month,” said the Office for National Statistics.
