Chelsea have officially announced the signing of French defender Axel Disasi from Monaco in a transfer worth €45 million (£38.7 million). Additionally, the club has offered a six-year contract to the 25-year-old, and they made the move swiftly in response to Wesley Fofana’s injury.

Notably, Axel Disasi boasts an impressive record, having played in 130 Ligue 1 matches and being part of the French squad that reached the World Cup final last year. In an interview with Chelsea’s website, the center-back expressed his aspirations, stating that he aims to achieve significant accomplishments with the club, including winning titles. He passionately emphasized his strong ambition and dedication to doing whatever it takes to reach those objectives.

The new signing also expressed his excitement about joining a club with a rich history of success for French players, citing examples like [Frank] Leboeuf, [Marcel] Desailly, [Nicolas] Anelka, [N’Golo] Kanté, and [Olivier] Giroud. He even noted the symbolism of the color blue, reminiscent of the French national team, which further added to his enthusiasm.

Chelsea’s ambition in the transfer market doesn’t end there, as they are reportedly close to securing the goalkeeper Robert Sánchez in their ranks. The potential deal involves an agreement with Brighton, with the fee expected to be worth up to £25m.

Furthermore, Chelsea is actively engaged in negotiations with Brighton for the Ecuadorian midfielder Moisés Caicedo and has a keen interest in acquiring another striker. On the other hand, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino faces a significant decision concerning a swap deal proposed by Juventus. Juventus seeks to acquire Romelu Lukaku and offer money to Chelsea in exchange for Dusan Vlahovic.

Overall, Chelsea’s transfer dealings and ambitions for the future paint a picture of a club actively strengthening its squad and aiming high for future success.
