After defeating rival Manchester United 2-1 at Wembley on Saturday, Pep Guardiola’s team won their second title of the year. For the Premier League champions, Germany midfielder Ilkay Gundogan scored twice to keep their hopes of a historic Treble alive.
Perhaps the best performance of the night, however, came during the festivities that followed, when the squad and staff serenaded the legendary singer. After flying back to Manchester from the London match, the City side encountered John on the airport runway with exuberant spirits.

At the end of the singing, John took a moment to talk and said, ‘One more next week!’ Immediately afterward, city officials applauded.
Then they all gathered for it a picture where the players and staff could beam with a smile together with the singer.
John appeared happy to be part of the festivities, just like City boss Pep Guardiola, who could be observed in the background before he burst into applause.
The 76-year-old had performed the final show of his three-day stint at Manchester’s AO Arena earlier in the evening when the incident occurred.
