drone attack on Kremlin

On Thursday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov accused the United States of being behind the drone attack on the Kremlin , intended to kill Russian President Vladimir Putin.

He made the allegation during a briefing with reporters and said that Washington should be aware that Russia knew it was selecting the targets, and Ukraine was merely implementing U.S. plans.

Peskov did not offer any evidence to support the claim of U.S. involvement in drone attack on Kremlin.

“Attempts to disown this, both in Kyiv and in Washington, are, of course, absolutely ridiculous. Peskov stated, “We know very well that Washington makes decisions about such actions, about such terrorist attacks, not in Kyiv.”

He alleged that the United States often selected both the targets for Ukraine to attack and the means to attack them.

He also mentioned, “This is also something that is often dictated from across the ocean.”

We know this well and are aware of this … In Washington, they must clearly understand that we know this.”

The Kremlin has said it reserves the right to retaliate but has not said what form this might take.

The US National Security Council’s strategic communications coordinator, John Kirby, refuted Russia’s “ludicrous” accusation that the US authorised Ukraine to carry out the purported strike and murder Putin, and accused the president’s spokeswoman of lying.

“I’d just tell you that Mr. Peskov is lying.” I mean, it’s an obviously absurd claim. This has nothing to do with the United States. “We have no idea what happened here,” Kirby said.

“However, I can assure you that the United States played no part in it.”
