Prince William Sips A Pint And Greets Public Before Coronation

Prince William pours a pint, meets public before coronation

Prince William drank a pint of ale as part of a royal stroll around downtown London before of King Charles III’s coronation. He rode the tube with his wife Kate.

With only two days until Saturday’s coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey Prince William and Kate stopped in London’s lively Soho nightlife district. To mingle with royal admirers, visitors, and Londoners.

The couple rode the Elizabeth Line for the first time, which is named after Queen Elizabeth II. This is the newest line on London’s bustling railway network. They then headed to the famous Dog and Duck tavern. Where William poured a pint of Kingmaker, a pale ale produced to commemorate the coronation.

William joked that he would have to limit his drinking and “get back into work mode.”

Hundreds of royal admirers packed the streets of Soho, some from China, Canada, and the United States. Hoping for a sight of the couple, a handshake, or a quick talk.

Kate said her eldest kid, Prince George, was “excited” about the coronation. The 9-year-old prince, who is second in line to the throne after his father, will be one of the king’s four pages of honour on Saturday.

On Wednesday, George and his younger siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, joined other members of the royal family for a rehearsal for the wedding.

Thursday’s royal visit occurred as the United Kingdom prepared for the first coronation since Elizabeth II was crowned 70 years ago.

Union Jack bunting and crown decorations have sprouted around the city. While Big Ben was lighted up red as part of late-night dress rehearsals on Wednesday around midnight.

The historic event is scheduled to draw 100 heads of state, delegates from 200 nations. Along with hundreds of thousands of tourists. Meanwhile many royal watchers have already gathered near Buckingham Palace to secure the best viewing spot.
