Premier League: Manchester City Dominated Arsenal FC With A 4-1 Win

Manchester City vs Arsenal

Champions Manchester City produced a sensational performance to take entire control of the Premier League title chase, defeating leaders Arsenal 4-1.

At the Etihad Stadium, Kevin De Bruyne scored twice and John Stones and Erling Haaland also scored as City dealt a potentially fatal blow to Arsenal’s title chances. Arsenal responded late on by Rob Holding, but City had long since established their supremacy. And Haaland sealed the game in stoppage time with his 49th goal of the season.

The success moved Pep Guardiola’s side within two points of the Londoners at the top of the table. And they are now strong favourites to win their fifth title in six years, with two games remaining.

Arsenal and manager Mikel Arteta had no answer for the hosts’ pace, strength, and tenacity. Who were at their ruthless best and drove to their 12th win in 13 games in all competitions.

According to Martin Keown, Arsenal let Erling Haaland’strut around’ the ground in their 4-1 loss to Manchester City. After failing to land a punch on the striker.

The former Arsenal defender was dissatisfied with how Rob Holding and the rest of the Gunners backline dealt with Haaland. Beginning with his assist for Kevin De Bruyne’s early opening on Wednesday night.

For most of this season we thought the Premier League title race was a very close race. How wrong we were. Manchester City have beaten Arsenal 7-2 on aggregate across their two games and the 4-1 hammering they dished out at the Etihad could have been a lot more.

Haaland and De Bruyne overwhelmed Arsenal centrally and even when Arsenal did get the ball to their star youngsters Saka, Martinelli and Odegaard. And they looked like deer in the headlights and barely strung a few passes together or made a forward run.
