“It is more important to click with people than to click the shutter.” It’s also on your LinkedIn that you “decided to follow your passion and answer various people’s needs”. Is that what makes you love your profession as it makes others happy?
I believe that photography is not just about capturing beautiful images. It’s also about connecting with people, understanding their needs and emotions, and bringing out the best in them through my photography. We’ve been raised by the ideology that a picture speaks a thousand words, and that’s my mission in photography. Capturing a story in every shot and the ability to make a positive impact in their lives that makes me love my profession.
Your Instagram photos all lights, buildings, people, and laughter we think you consider life to be enjoyed, And happiness is your favourite emotion to be captured. Is it?
That is completely true, there’s nothing more positive in life other than happiness, and resilience, and i love reflecting that into my photography.
I love to capture candid moments of people laughing, enjoying life, and experiencing the world around them.
There was a time photographers told people to pose, smile, ‘say cheese’ and all. But don’t know if any photographers do that now, now it’s all about capturing the moment. Do you think there is a shift in how people approach photography?
Photography has definitely evolved since then. Back in the day, the only person who would have access to a camera would be in their mid 20s or 30s, so it was not very common, but now everyone by the age of 10 has access to a relatively good camera on their phone. That being said, norms are being broken every day, and imagination of photography is constantly evolving.
Why is nightlife your fav genre?
Born and raised in Lebanon, nightlife and entertainment has always been our breath of fresh air, so capturing those moments so they can last forever has always been a passion of mine.
It said ‘oh this photo has a life in it’ What makes the best photo? Or what are the ingredients you prefer to have in it?
Capturing the right photo could be as complex as a math problem and also as simple as clicking the shutter at a random moment. Hundreds of photos are taken at a shoot, sitting back in the studio and choosing which ones speak depth is usually the challenge.
Photography is creative; the photographer’s eyes capture and the camera is just a device. Have you ever experienced a conflict between your creative mind and the client’s needs?
Photography is an art, I think I speak for a lot of people when i say, we love what we do and images captured for our clients always reflect who we are as artists/photographers. Unlike getting a job done, photographers go into every shoot with passion for the art of photography to capture emotions and images that bring back an experience with a still photo.
In your 8+ years of experience in photography, what would be that one photo or moment you cherish the most?
After 8 years of photography, being chosen to capture Coldplay must be one of my proudest moments in this field.
What is the story? When did you spot your passion?
As a little kid, i used to look at family portraits and pictures and always wondered “why are these pictures missing life?” it’s been a challenge of mine at a very young age to grab a camera and bring more life to a still image.
Which was the most important event you covered? And The most difficult event?
Of course, EXPO 2020 Dubai, Covering celebrities, politicians and world leaders at expo was a game changer.
What technology/software/camera gear do you use to keep focused on what do you do best, as you photograph?
I’m always up to date with the latest software from Adobe to give the best post-production.
In terms of Cameras, I use the Nikon and a wide range of lenses.
