Rishi Sunak announced he will move even further to halve the inflation. In addition to it he introduces new energy bill payments to people from next month on. The energy bill household no need to apply as money will send automatically. Which is the first of three payments, totally 9000 pounds.

Millions of UK households will receive a £301 payment over the next six weeks to help ease the pressures of the cost of living crisis.

It will show in bank accounts for people on universal credit or pension credit between April 25 and May 17, 2023/24.

There will also be additional payments of £150 for eligible people with disabilities. Moreover £300 for pensioners coming later this year. Which is bringing the total amount of direct payments to £1,350 for some individuals.

The £301 payment will be distributed automatically and directly to recipients. So those who qualify do not need to apply or do anything else to obtain it. It is anticipated that this will help to prevent scammers from duping people into providing their banking information or money to apply for the payment.

The payment reference for bank accounts will be “DWP COLP”, along with the claimant’s national insurance number.

The beneficiaries cost-of-living payout

Those receiving income-based jobseeker’s allowance. Income-related employment and support allowance, income support, working tax credit, and child tax credit will also be eligible for the upcoming cost-of-living payout.

A person already entitled to a payment of a qualifying benefit within a certain period is eligible for payment.

If someone had an assessment period concluding between 26 January 2023 and 25 February 2023 that resulted in an entitlement to money under universal credit. They will also be entitled to the £301 cost-of-living payment.
