22nd iteration Seoul Fashion Week, one of the biggest event in the country started on Wednesday. Organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Government twice a year. Showcasing the fall and winter 2023 collections from well-known and up-and-coming designers. Up until Sunday, the festival will last five days.
Seoul Fashion Week is a star-studded affair. With actors and K-pop artists among the high-profile guests seen on this season’s front rows.
On the five-day Fall-Winter 2023 schedule, attendees came in style for runway performances. And some of the most intriguing looks could be seen there. Others were wore by fashion enthusiasts who came looking for a chance to flaunt their individual sense of style.
The city of South Korea saw plenty of structured jackets and fun knitwear on display despite the chilly weather. And there was no lack of striking attire.
The fall/winter 2023 collection by designer Ko Tae-yong for Beyond Closet. With the title “Every Piece of Art is a Serendipity,” exemplified humour.
Military jumpers with oversized pockets and lapels and tailored coats with multiple layers of fabric were worn by models as they walked down the runway.
The fall/winter season of this year is crucial for designers and industry insiders to make a full recovery, according to Lee of LIE. “After the pandemic, it was physically difficult for fashion buyers to come to Korea for business. But it looks like the industry is seeing about a 70% recovery to normal (in terms of buyers’ participation),” Lee of LIE said.
The 2023 fall-winter collections of 23 designers. Seven up-and-coming designers and one business brand will be on display at two catwalk locations. At Dongdaemun Design Plaza through Sunday as part of the 22nd annual Seoul Fashion Week.
