Lebanese stars showcase Middle East talent at Expo 2020 Dubai’s Street Music series

Expo 2020 Dubai’s Street Music series brought together four Lebanese singers, Ziad Bourji, Joseph Attieh, Bashaar Aljawad and Dalida Khalil, to wow the crowd at the Earth Plaza on Saturday (26 February) for its Middle Eastern night.

The audience remained captivated throughout, singing along with their favourite songs, while taking photos, videos and selfies.

Bashaar Aljawad rose to fame as a contestant on the fourth season of the Lebanese edition of The Voice, impressing the judges with his rendition of Melhem Zein‘s ‘Ghibbi Ya Shams’.

Dalida Khalil’s career began in the TV series Fifty Fifty in 2006. The niece of Lebanese singer Laura Khalil, she added music to her repertoire with her first single, ‘Wardi W Wardi’, in 2018, and continues acting and singing, consistently releasing new work.

The first Lebanese artist to win TV show Star Academy in 2005, Joseph Attieh released his first single, ‘La Trouhy’, the following year, and it became a best-seller in Lebanon and the Middle East. Since then, he has released a string of successful singles, as well as five albums between 2010 and 2017.

Ziad Bourji released one of his earliest singles, ‘Wallah’, in 2013, but is perhaps better known for his hit singles released in 2015 – ‘Mosh Nawi Ala Kher’ and ‘Khayen’. He has also won a few of Lebanon’s coveted Murex D’or awards.
