It is incredibly unethical for players to leak news about team, says Guardiola

LONDON (UK) – Manager of Manchester City Pep Guardiola said it is “incredibly unethical and unprofessional” for players to leak news regarding the team, adding that it cannot be controlled.

His comments came after Aston Villa complained that news about an injury to Jack Grealish appeared on social media.

The Times carried a report on Monday that Villa players had been banned from taking part in the Fantasy Premier League game because of concerns regarding Grealish’s injury being leaked online.

FPL insider, a Twitter account, said that Villa’s Matt Targett, Conor Hourihane and Neil Taylor and two staff members transferred Grealish out of their fantasy squads much ahead of the game’s transfer deadline.

“Sometimes you make a team selection and players speak to friends on other teams and talk about what you do,” Guardiola said.

“Sometimes it happens and it is incredibly unethical and unprofessional but you cannot control it.”
