Israeli commander guns down suspected Palestinian knife attacker in West Bank

JERUSALEM (ISRAEL) – A Palestinian man who tried to stab Israeli soldiers in the occupied West Bank was gunned down by a military commander on Tuesday.

The incident took place a junction south of Nablus, said the military in a statement.

Troops stationed at a nearby Israeli military post “spotted an assailant who attempted to stab two IDF (Israeli military) soldiers” stationed at the junction.

“One of the soldiers blocked the assailant’s multiple stabbing attacks, and the commander of the troops who was at the scene fired towards the assailant and neutralised him,” said the statement.

The attacker is yet to be identified.
