British Sikh Association Chairman Lord Ranger slams false propaganda circulating in his name

LONDON (UK) – Chairman of the British Sikh Association (BSA) Lord Ranger CBE has issued a statement slamming the false propaganda against him and the Sikh community, which appeared in the form of a communique in his name on an old letterhead of the BSA.

A member of the House of Peers, Lord Ranger condemned the fake letter circulating in his name, saying “it contains lies insulting the community such as that I am against the farmers’ movement in India. I can categorically confirm I have not written this letter and these are not my views. This false communication and other false propaganda are also being used to divide our community.”

Baron Ranger of Mayfair said the police would conduct a probe to find the culprit behind the fake letter, which portrays him as opposing the farmers’ protests taking place in India. The millionaire businessman, who is the founder of Sun Mark, a global marketing and distribution company, said he was disappointed that a member of his own community stooped to such a level to disseminate “lies and hatred when the Sikh religion is based on truthful living, good deeds, and upholds the values of honesty, compassion, generosity, humility, integrity and service.”

In his statement, the patron of British Herald categorically stated that every community has the right to express its views and democratic rights peacefully. “This right is also paramount to the farmers. These rights are enshrined in the Indian constitution and I request the Government of India for an urgent resolution,” said the award-winning entrepreneur. He also exhorted fellow Sikhs to “spend their time and energy uniting the community and humanity as a whole.”
