Malaysia’s Muhyiddin urges MPs to ensure 2021 budget is passed to tackle coronavirus crisis

KUALA LUMPUR (MALAYSIA) – Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin of Malaysia exhorted parliamentarians on Saturday to make sure that the budget for 2021 is passed in order to tackle the spread of the pandemic.

“I hope all parliamentarians can put aside political differences to ensure that the 2021 Budget is approved in the interest of the people and the country,” the prime minister said during a televised address, adding that elections are to be held in the states of Sabah and Sarawak in spite of the surging infections there unless a state of emergency is declared.
