206 new cases of coronavirus infections in Tokyo, says NHK

TOKYO (JAPAN) – Japan public broadcaster NHK said there were 206 new coronavirus infections in the country’s capital on Saturday citing Tokyo officials. The city is struggling with a resurgence in cases after the government lifted a state of emergency.

For the third consecutive day, the city reported more than 200 cases and a record high of 243 new cases were recorded on Friday. Coronavirus cases have shown a spike in Tokyo’s Kabukicho red-light district.
