Britain will have to bear consequences if it rules China is a hostile country, says Beijing envoy

LONDON (UK) – If the UK treats China as a hostile nation while deciding whether or not to allow Huawei to be part of the country’s telecommunications network, Britain will have to face the consequences, said the Bejing envoy to London on Monday.

“We want to be your friend. We want to be your partner. But if you want to make China a hostile country, you will have to bear the consequences,” Liu Xiaoming said in a briefing.

This comes in the wake of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announcing last week that he would proceed carefully on making a decision on Huawei as the government did not want any critical infrastructure to be controlled by “potentially hostile state vendors”.
