I’m pretty hands on, says PM about newborn son

LONDON (UK) – UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he was a pretty hands-on father to his “wonderful kid” although being the father of a newborn and running the country was very busy.

His fiancée, Carrie Symonds, gave birth to their son Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas on April 29 after the prime minister underwent treatment in intensive care for COVID-19.

“For me, at any rate, it is very, very busy so the concept of paternity leave is not one I have really been able to deal with,” he told LBC radio.

About his son, Johnson said: “He’s a wonderful kid – such a wonderful kid.”
