DUBLIN – On Prince William’s first official Ireland visit, he asked emergency workers if they believed that the coronavirus has been hyped by the media.
As Prince William chatted with the emergency workers at a reception organised by the British ambassador on Tuesday evening at the Dublin Guinness brewery.
Prince William also made a joke on how his wife and he were spreading the dreaded coronavirus.
“I bet everyone’s like: ‘I’ve got coronavirus, I’m dying’, and you’re like ‘no, you’ve just got a cough. Does it seem quite dramatic about coronavirus at the moment? Is it being a little bit hyped up do you think in the media?”

So far, 51 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed by Britain and on Tuesday, an action plan has been issued by the government including a warning that a fifth of the total British workforce may be off work at the peak of the coronavirus outbreak.
Two cases of coronavirus have been confirmed so far in Ireland too.
“By the way, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are spreading coronavirus! Sorry! We’re keeping an eye on that, so do tell us if we need to stop!”

He seemed to be in quite the jester mood, even during his reception at the brewery where his grandmother Queen Elizabeth was filmed pouring a pint back in 2011. He commented, “It is not often that I find myself following the queen to the pub.”
Prince William thanked the crowd for their contribution to a very special relationship between the two countries.
Prince William and Kate have been making their first official Ireland visit to boost the ties between their state and Ireland which were impacted by fraught, protracted negotiations before Britain’s divorce from the European Union and their exit from the bloc.
On the second day of the couple’s Ireland tour, they toured a mental health support charity based in Dublin after which they travelled to a social justice charity in County Kildare.
