On Monday, organisers of the British Open Championship announced that they are gearing up for their 152nd edition with a return to Royal Troon in 2023.

The tournament happened last in 2016 at the South Ayrshire links course when the Claret Jug prize was lifted by Henrik Stenson.

This shall be the 10th time the major is hosted by the Royal Troon and back in 2023, exactly 100 years ago, for the first time, England’s Arthur Havers was crowned champion.

“We’re looking forward to celebrating another milestone in the cherished history of The Open when we mark the 100th anniversary of the Championship first being played at Royal Troon.”
