IHG- Holiday Inn-owner takes hit from Hong Kong protests

 InterContinental Hotels Group, which owns the Holiday Inn, reported a dip in the per-room revenue in 2019 with lower booking numbers in Hong Kong because of the protests and now it braces for the impact that it shall have to face due to coronavirus.

IHG has 443 hotels in China under different brands. The RevPAR which is the comparable revenue per available room fell 0.3% around the world and 4.5% in Greater China.

The update had the results till December end and gave no indication of the coronavirus effect on its results as authorities in China took measures to stop the virus spread a month ago.
