Egypt’s first coronavirus case confirmed, affected is a foreigner

CAIRO- On Friday, Egypt confirmed its first coronavirus case. The affected individual is a foreigner who has been now put into isolation in the hospital.

In a statement, the health ministry said that the World Health Organisation (WHO) had immediately been alerted and all the required preventative measures were taken.

The nationality or other details of the affected person had not been mentioned.

On Twitter, WHO Egypt said that the person affected was carrying the virus- they did not appear symptomatic and their condition seemed stable.
