French plane brings over 250 foreign nationals from Wuhan to France

PARIS – On Sunday, over 250 people from 30 countries entered France after being evacuated from coronavirus epidemic epicentre Wuhan.

The French plane arrived in the Istres military airbase in southern France.

Of the total 254 evacuees, 124 were to return to their home countries according to France’s Health Minister Agnes Buzyn.

64 French nationals shall be quarantined at a Carry-le-Rouet holiday resort or at the National Fire Officers’ Academy close to Aix-en-Provence.

60 of the non-European nationals were from Mexico, Brazil, Georgia and Rwanda and are quarantined in France for a period of 14 days. 20 of the symptomatic evacuees are to stay at the airbase until tests confirm the presence of the virus.
