Several security flaws have been found by Google researchers in Apple Inc’s Safari browser. These allowed Safari to track user browsing behaviour, according to the Financial Times.
The vulnerabilities lay within a specially designed privacy protection tool which allows third parties to avail sensitive user browsing habit information.
Last August, the flaws were disclosed by Alphabet Inc’s Google to Apple. In a December blog post, an engineer at Apple claimed that the flaws disclosed to them by Google researchers had been fixed. On Wednesday, an Apple spokesman confirmed that the flaws were patched last year.
Google was not available immediately to respond for comment.
