Kurz’s Austrian conservatives and Greens reach coalition deal

VIENNA- On Wednesday, Sebastian Kurz’s Austrian conservatives and Greens reached a coalition deal which ensures his return to power. This deal, for the first time, shall bring the left-wing party into the government.

The coalition deal comes three months after the Conservatives party led by Kurz won the parliamentary election with 37.5% of the votes on September 29th. This meant that they required a coalition partner to command the lower house majority.

Greens had finished fourth with 13.9% of the votes. Kurz and the Greens counterpart shall release their statements later in the evening.
