LONDON – A several hundreds of protesters marched out onto the streets of central London on Friday protesting against Britain’s election result. Masses were heard chanting “Boris Johnson: Not My Prime Minister” and “Boris, Boris, Boris: Out, Out, Out”.

The protesters, holding up signs that read “Defy Tory (Conservative) Rule” and “Refugees Welcome”, began marching at speed from 10, Downing Street to Trafalgar Square up to the theatre district, causing traffic blocks and ensuring a heavy police presence in the areas.

Conservatives led by PM Boris Johnson won Thursday’s general election by a huge margin. On Friday, Johnson called for “closure” over the Brexit divisions that have riven the UK over the past three and a half years.
